The only way to tell the UmbrellasPatio.com story is from the heart, because the heart is where we got the inspiration to start our little family owned business.  You might recognize us from our flagship business, ALJO Media Industries, the owners of CushionsAndUmbrellas.com and PatioUmbrellaland.com, and now we've launched this site as an expansion of our plans to reach as many home and garden customers as we can.  We've created UmbrellasPatio.com to be a reflection of our dedication to creating great outdoor products and selling them for a fair price.

I'm Kathie Garcia and along with my husband, Robert Garcia, are the real people behind the business, and we welcome you to our patio umbrella website.   Our small family business is dedicated to providing a great service and great products at a fair price.

We both went to the University of Miami, Robert studying design and marketing, and I studied business.  As most Americans, we both dreamt of starting our own businesses, and we both worked very hard at school and work to achieve our goals.  Robert started his career in design and marketing in the patio business, and I went to work in management.  When we met, Robert had started our little corner of the web, and we've grown the business as best as we could have since then.

Robert and I come from families that have always encouraged us to follow our dreams.  We received their unconditional support as we started growing our business, and it's reflected in our dedication to  providing quality products at fair prices and providing top-notch customer service. That’s where I come in!  My  customer service experience has been as an operations executive for more than 15 years with various Fortune 500 companies and I'm proud to say that I know and  understand our customers, and together we've developed as strong a service as possible.
